Monetisation Disclosure

The directory is free for homeowners — searching, comparing contractors, using the rebate calculator and sizing estimator, and submitting quote requests never costs anything. Revenue comes entirely from contractors. Here's exactly how.

Lead credits

Contractors buy credit packs. Submitting a homeowner's quote request to a contractor consumes one credit from their balance, deducted at the moment the lead is delivered — not before.

Subscription plans

Contractors can subscribe (monthly or annual) for premium features — a Featured badge in relevant searches, dashboard analytics, and other paid-tier tools. All billing runs through Stripe.

What payment buys

  • A listing on the directory in the first place
  • Additional homeowner leads beyond a free allotment, via lead credits
  • Featured or premium placement callouts on a subscription plan
  • Access to the contractor dashboard's lead and analytics tools

What payment never buys

  • The Verified badge — that's earned by submitting real license and insurance documents, reviewed the same way for every contractor regardless of plan
  • A better position in organic search ranking, which is driven by relevance, reviews, and profile completeness
  • Exemption from removal for false documents or substantiated complaints

Automated contractor communications

Contractor accounts may receive automated, behavior-triggered emails — for example, a low-credit notice, a reminder before a subscription renews or expires, or a nudge to complete a profile. These are operational account emails, not third-party advertising, and every automated sequence includes an unsubscribe option. See our Privacy Policy for what triggers them.

How verification and payment stay separate

Verification is reviewed against submitted license, insurance, and business documents — see How We Verify — using the same checklist for every contractor, whether they're on a free listing or a premium plan. Paying for placement does not fast-track or bypass document review.
