Terms of Service
Last updated: July 9, 2026
1. What this service is
Electrification Directory is a directory that lists heat pump and electrification contractors and lets homeowners submit project quote requests directly to them. Browsing the directory, using the rebate calculator, and submitting a quote request are free for homeowners. Contractors listed on the directory pay for visibility through lead credits and/or a subscription plan, described further in our Monetisation Disclosure.
2. We are a directory, not a contractor
Electrification Directory does not perform, supervise, warranty, or guarantee any installation, repair, or other work. Any agreement for work — pricing, scheduling, workmanship, and warranty — is strictly between the homeowner and the contractor they choose to work with. We are not a party to that agreement and are not liable for the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any work performed by a listed contractor.
3. Verification has limits
We review the license, insurance, and business-registration documents a contractor submits, as described in How We Verify. A "Verified" badge means those documents were reviewed and appeared valid at the time of review — it is not a guarantee of a contractor's current licensing status, insurance coverage, or the quality of their work. We encourage homeowners to independently confirm a contractor's license and insurance before hiring, especially for larger projects.
4. Contractor accounts
- You must provide accurate business information and keep your license, insurance, and certification documents current.
- Lead credits are consumed when a homeowner submits a quote request through your listing; credits are non-refundable once a lead has been delivered, except where required by law or where we determine in good faith that a lead was fraudulent or a billing error occurred.
- Subscription plans renew automatically until cancelled from your dashboard or by contacting us; cancelling stops future renewals but does not refund the current billing period.
- We may suspend or remove a listing that submits false verification documents, receives a pattern of substantiated complaints, or otherwise violates these terms.
5. Homeowner conduct
Quote requests should reflect a genuine interest in a project. Submitting repeated, false, or automated requests to disrupt a contractor's lead flow is prohibited and may result in your requests being blocked; the platform already rate-limits repeated submissions to the same contractor from the same email address.
6. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Electrification Directory is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the directory or from work performed by a listed contractor. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose.
7. Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page, and contractor accounts will be notified by email where the change affects billing or verification requirements.
